Detailed Terms and Conditions
References to “We” refer to the Forum, its owner, director, managers, administrators, moderators and employees, and our agents, associates, sponsors, advertisers and other related parties.
- Participants must be bona fide persons. Proof of identity is a requirement for admission as a member. This information will be protected, and will not be revealed to any other party (unless required by Law).
- Participants are limited to one (1) account, and to only one (1) participant for each account. Sharing of one account with other persons (“Syndication”), is expressly forbidden and is easily detected, and will result in a Permanent Membership Ban.
- Account names must only be the name of the Applicant/Account Owner.
- The use of images, avatars, logos and product, company or website names, or links to other persons or entities, is expressly prohibited.
- We reserve all rights in relation to approving or rejecting any application for membership, and may suspend, terminate or ban any account at any time.
- Submissions must be strictly of a technical nature. Submissions which are non-technical (such as, for example, management, administrative, financial, interpersonal, or personal issues), are not permitted, and will not be accepted for publication. However, topics relating to these aspects, which are of a “professional” nature, may be accepted.
- Topics which may be considered as being non-technical, but as being relevant and of interest and value to the Forum membership, may be submitted privately to the Forum Administrator for consideration, and may be published if approved. The decision of the Forum Administrator will be final, and no further correspondence will be entered into.
- Submissions which are considered to be “off-topic”, or which don’t contribute in a meaningful way to the discussion, will be rejected/deleted. Submissions considered to be off-topic include feedback to the Forum Team, complaints, and reports of issues such as breaches of the Forum Rules, or expressed opinions (all of which should only be conveyed through the “Contact Us” facility). The least valued comments are those which are merely judgements of another’s contribution, or of that person, and such low-value comments will be rejected/deleted.
- Submissions which are not directly related to the business or professional interests of the Forum are strictly not permitted, and will be rejected/deleted. These include personal opinions, abuse, judgements and criticisms of others, or those which are of a religious, racial, gender or political nature.
- Submissions must not include text using ALL-CAPITALS (Upper Case letters), using RED font colour, or contain embedded elements such as avatars, images, logos, hyperlinks, etc. Submissions of this nature may be edited, or simply rejected and deleted.
- Submissions must not identify the name of a particular entity (company, plant, location, or person). Information must be strictly limited to describing the size and type of plant, its operating regime, the circumstances of a problem, the problem itself, related data (alarms, trends, operations, actions, etc), and the consequences of the problem.
- Submissions must not divulge any personal information. The same rules apply to any answers, suggestions, guidance, instructions, advice, etc, submitted in response to a query. Any non-complying information will be deleted before publication, or the submission rejected entirely.
- Submissions must not seek or divulge answers to examination questions (whether for statutory, vocational, professional, institutional or other qualifications).
- Confidential information and/or Intellectual Property must not be submitted. This applies to any documentation such as instructions, procedures, designs, processes, technical data, etc. Any non-complying information will be deleted.
- Contributions which include quotes from published sources must acknowledge the source (document, author, publisher, year of publication, etc).
- Contributions must not contain elements of discrimination on any grounds, or be aggressive or threatening in nature, nor be derogatory, crude, slanderous or libellous. Any non-complying contributions will be rejected/deleted immediately. Any material which, by its nature and content, places an obligation on the Forum Administration to report the matter to regulatory agencies, will be retained and reported accordingly.
- Contributions must not include content which is of a promotional or advertorial nature. This includes details of, and links to, other persons or entities. Such material is expressly reserved for the Forum’s approved Sponsors and Advertisers. Any non-complying contributions will be rejected/deleted immediately.
- We reserve all rights in relation to approving or rejecting any contribution for publication, and no guarantees or warranties are given that a contribution will be addressed within a given time, or at all. However, we will ensure that we do our best to satisfy the needs of our Members.
- In the public domain of the Forum, participants must only identify themselves using their first name (or an approved alias, in special cases). Guest contributors of articles, and technical papers may identify themselves by either their real names, or by an alias if preferred. The full names of participants, if submitted erroneously, will be edited to show only the first name.
- Discussion threads may be edited, duplicated, moved or deleted, at the discretion of the Editorial Team.
- We accept no responsibility or liability for any breach of these Rules of Participation, nor for any potential or consequential damages claimed or arising.
- We accept no liability for any errors in the information (guidance, advice, instructions, explanations, etc), provided by participants or contributors, nor for any potential or consequential damages resulting from the use by, or acts or omissions of, any user of the information.
- We accept no liability for any errors in the information (guidance, advice, instructions, explanations, etc), as may be obtained through translation into any other language, nor for any potential or consequential damages resulting from the use by, or acts or omissions of, any user of the information which has been so translated.
- The Forum Owner reserves all rights relating to the design, content and operation of the Forum, and to all information and data supplied to or through the Forum.
- For members, a serious breach of these terms and conditions will result in immediate termination of membership, a permanent ban on any future participation in the Forum, rejection of any future membership application/s, and forfeiture of any subscription funds paid (with no recourse to a refund in any form).
- In acknowledging and accepting these terms and conditions, applicants and members also acknowledge and accept the Privacy Policy which forms part of these terms and conditions, and agree to be bound by the undertakings so made.
- The Forum Owner reserves the right to amend or add to the Forum Rules at any time, without prior or subsequent notice.
