Query: Auxiliary Diesel Generator CB Trip and Shutdown
Explanation of Query: We have been trying to commission a newly-constructed small power plant, located in a remote region, which has a large Diesel Generator for plant start-up and back-up power supply. On our first attempt to disconnect the DG, in order to run solely on the Steam Turbine-Generator, we could not successfully open the DG circuit breaker. While the CB appeared to open, when initiated from the control screen, the DG continued to supply load and the CB was clearly closed. We cannot see any reason why the DG cannot be disconnected and shut down. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank's, Terry.
